Nene has signed with the Hammers till the end of the season

Rio de Janeiro, Feb 19 (IANS) English football club West Ham United FC has signed Brazilian striker Nene until the end of the season. The 33-year-old joins the London outfit on a free transfer from Qatari side Al-Gharafa, reports Xinhua.

"I am very excited and happy to be here," Nene told West Ham's official website on Wednesday.

"I'm proud to come to a really big club like West Ham and I'm going to do my best to help the team. I've been thinking about coming back to Europe for a few months because here the football, the ambience, everything is better."

Nene has scored over 100 career goals, having had spells at Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, Celta Vigo, Espanyol, Real Mallorca and Alaves. His signing reinforces West Ham's attack following a season-ending knee injury to Andy Carroll earlier this month.
