What are you doing, Mou?

I know that it is too easy to hate Jose Mourinho. The man is arrogant, cocky, self centered and the poster child of controversy. But, fewer men have had this much success in such a short span of time.

I have always been your biggest follower, Mourinho. When you arrived in England, everyone was thinking “Who is this arrogant bloke?”. I, on the flip side, was impressed.

What are you doing ?

Despite you repeatedly making a mockery of whatever is common and trivial in football, I have always been fascinated by you. You sir, can only make a joke out of the most serious question ever asked. You sir, can only have the courage to say something so controversial in front of the whole world.

But, seriously today, what are you trying to do Mou?

You dropped Sergio Ramos, I understand. You wanted them to know that you were the boss. You wanted them to know that if they crossed the line, they would be punished. But dropping Iker Casillas? I do not understand that. And stating that Antonio Adan, a player who has made only 5 first division starts in his entire life, is better than Iker “God” Casillas is beyond imaginable, even for you.

You have always had issues with the backroom staff. Right from Portugal to Italy, you have always had issues with the board. But, not once have you left the side of your players. While managing Inter Milan, you claimed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was better than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. No offense to Zlatan, but you and me both know that he isn’t better than either Messi or Ronaldo. Today, you are dropping one of the greatest goalkeepers that the world has ever seen. You are openly saying that the league is out of your hands.

Two days before this incident, Perez wanted everybody to “lower the tension”. But, who the heck is he to tell you what to do? You go and do something that has elevated the tension to an all time high.

In a club where the nicest man you could ever find, Vicente del Bosque, was sacked a day after he won the league title, your chances are next to nil.

But, you know that, don’t you?

What I don’t get is where you are going with all this. Are you trying to deliberately get sacked? Are you doing all this so that you can shock us by winning a record 10th European title for Madrid? Surely, if you win the European Cup, your place at Madrid would be secure.

But you are not the kind that asks for the job, are you? We know that you are not happy, and we know about the three-year itch. But what we don’t know is if you have already made up your mind. No matter what, your fans and football fans around the world are waiting for that showdown against Manchester United. Go and show the world why you are “The Special One”.
