It’s that time of year again. Nearly exactly a year ago, we saw Liverpool part with Fernando Torres and welcome the arrival of strikers Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.
So, what are we going to see from Liverpool this January transfer window?
Opinion… Not good enough to make the grade
First of all, it has become apparent that Liverpool are interested in signing Wigan winger/attacking midfielder Victor Moses. I’ll be honest. I’m uninterested in signing this youngster. I personally think that we don’t need one of those players whom Kenny leaves on a bench whilst the crowd constantly talk about giving him a chance before we sell him in a number of years time. That is my stance on signing Victor Moses. He doesn’t have enough quality to become a Liverpool FC player, even at his relatively tender age (21 years old). He lacks the cutting edge.
Liverpool, need to make a big signing. Something along the lines of a 20 million pound transfer. But it has to be evaluated thoroughly first. I don’t want us blowing our cash on yet another English midfielder whom flops with that big transfer fee. I’m talking about Roberto Soldado, I’m talking about Diego Perotti.
Liverpool FC need people inside that penalty box. People in there basically means more of the chances Liverpool have will be put away. Those people whom will take the risk and make that run into the box.
What Liverpool FC really lack is magic.
There’s this fantastic saying that I heard Clint Dempsey say once:
I say things that are cliches… but there’s a reason why people say ‘em, my dad will always say, if you don’t shoot the ball you won’t score. If you don’t take the risk, then how are you gonna get the rewards?

It’s all about finding that crucial final ball – the only ball that really matters. Possession is good, but without that spark to create a goal, it’s pointless. Liverpool FC need a magician, someone good on the dribble, someone good with his finishing, someone who has Gerrard-esque vision and execution with the pass.
Positions which are lacking include out on the right wing, a striker and an attacking playmaker, although I would actually really like to see Aquilani be given the chance. I’ve seen the videos for him in the red of Liverpool, and he has actually impressed me.
