Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently assigns Marcus Rashford as a striker, and United only have Anthony Martial as their most reliable winger. Perhaps it is safe to say now that the Red Devils are in a crisis in this position.

Solskjaer is now rotating heavily between Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, and Jese Lingard to fill the flanks. Unfortunately, none of them seems to live their expectations. Following Ronaldo departure in 2009, United are still longing for a dependable name to fit their legendary number 7 role.

United are recently targeting the likes of Douglas Costa, Gareth Bale, and Jadon Sancho to improve their flank. Among those 3, Sancho is the one who enjoyed the best season so, if United wants the most suitable name for their number 7 it should be the talented English kid. Now we will analyze what Sancho could bring to United.

Sharpness

Sancho is having an impressive amount of goals for Dortmund this season. While scoring goals is not his main trait, he already netting 7 goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances so far, excellent for an 18-year-old who is playing on the flank.

The Dortmund kid will help United to improve its overall sharpness because the likes of Sanchez and Mata are currently barely producing goals.

Sancho is well-known for his playmaking abilities because he could provide numerous key passes for Dortmund. This season, Sancho already nods 9 assists in his 21 Bundesliga appearances while maintaining an excellent 85.4 percent pass completion rate per game.

United is recently struggling with badly underperforming Lukaku. On the other hand, the Red Devils got Mata as their only creative winger who could help Lukaku to score goals because Martial and Jese Lingard are finishing–type player. Sancho could create more key passes and assists than Mata this season, meaning he will be a massive help for United.

Movement

Many know that Sancho is a nightmare to defenders because dribbling is becoming his best trait. He is already showcasing his agility against top opposition like Tottenham Hotspur in Champions League recently, especially in the first half of the game.

This season Sancho is already amassing an average of 3 successful dribbles in Bundesliga. His exceptional agility is the one that made Sancho a dangerous playmaker because he could flick quick passes after gliding past defenders. So far, arguably there are no United wingers that could match Sancho’s agility so, the Dortmund kid will be a more than welcome addition on the flank.

Conclusion

Gareth Bale is still having a problem with his fitness while Douglas Costa is not having a decent season. At just 18 years of age and in his debut season in Dortmund, many already compares the English kid to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi because of his impressive run so far.

Sancho could come for a lower price (£70 million) than Bale who could cost United a massive £100 million. Compared to Costa who could cost £60 million, Sancho is also still a huge bargain if judged by their current form and age.
