Ankara, June 13 (IANS) Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz, who will play against Spain on Friday at the Euro football championship in France, has been accused of domestic violence by his wife.

Istem Yilmez filed a complaint against the Chinese club Beijing Guoan player alleging physical and psychological abuse, Turkish newspaper Hurriyet reported on Monday, according to Efe.

Istem said in her testimony that on her wedding day her husband received a call from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying he wanted them to have three children, while Yilmaz said he wanted four.

But when Istem got pregnant for the second time, Yilmaz did not want to have the girl and hit her during the pregnancy, according to his wife's testimony.

Istem alleges that her husband began to humiliate her after they got married and accused her of marrying him for his money.

Istem, who is pregnant with her second child, has filed for divorce and is demanding 3.6 million euros (over $4 million) in support, a house and child custody.
