It’s a No-Goer: Wilfried Zaha is not moving to Crystal Palace

Tony Pulis has admitted that Crystal Palace are unlikely to sign Manchester United‘s Wilfried Zaha due to the competition for young Englishman.

Pulis is one of five managers apparently battling to sign Zaha on loan for the remainder of the current season. Zaha signed for United last January for £15 million but stayed at Palace to help their promotion push and he did just that, helping the Londoners win the Play-Off final at Wembley to gain promotion to the Premier League.

Since arriving at United, though, he has struggled to make an impact with David Moyes reluctant to give him much playing time so a loan move may transpire.

Zaha is yet to start a league game for United but with Nani‘s injury worse than originally feared, he may get his chance.

Pulis told talkSPORT: “We’ve spoken to David Moyes about Zaha and I don’t think he’s too keen on him coming back to London.

“It’s not a problem for us, he’s a Manchester United player. We don’t think it’s a goer, although we were very keen if there was a possibility to take him on.”

While Palace look set to miss out on one top target, Pulis made it clear that he will try to strengthen the squad to the best of his ability.

He said of his January transfer plans: “There are irons in other fires and we’re working hard to bring other players in.

“It’s what we need to do. I said when I came here that this window was important for Palace. If we can have a good window, then that gives us a better opportunity of staying up.”
