Reigning World and European Champions Spain have been drawn in Group I for the upcoming preliminary European World Cup 2014 qualifiers. The news is that in their Group they will find themselves competing historical rivals France. The other European nations that make up Group I are Belarus, Georgia and Finland.

As you can see from the graph presented above ( in Spanish ) there are some very interesting match- ups in each Qualification Group. The Euro Zone qualifiers begin on the 7th September 2012 & go on till the 15th of October of 2013.
The first placed team (winner) in each Group will qualify automatically for the World Cup Tournament to be held in Brazil in 2014, while the 8 best second placed nations ( there are 9 groups) go into a play-off to give the remaining 4 places. Only 13 Nations from the Euro Zone qualify for the World Cup Finals.
