Colombia's skipper struggled against the physicality of the Senegalese defenders and was cut out as a frustrating figure for the majority of the game. Falcao failed to hold the ball up on several occasions and found it extremely difficult to get past Senegal's rigid back-four on the night.

The 32-year-old failed to register a single attempt on target and also squandered two headed opportunities that he managed to conjure against a resolute Senegal defence.

Part of his below par performance on the night might be due to Kalidou Koulibaly's excellent showing throughout the game, but considering the amount of quality he has in his locker, it is safe to say that El Tigre was undeniably way below his usual standards.
