He added two more goals in that match and became the first player to net a hat-trick during the competition as both nations played out an entertaining 3-3 draw at the Olympiyskiy Stadium.
The attacker added one more with a decent header against Morrocco to raise his tally to four and secure his place among the elite goalscorers in Russia. With his 4 goals in 4 matches, Ronaldo managed to lead Portugal into the knockout phase of the tournament but a 2-1 defeat to Uruguay forced the European champions out of the World Cup.
