Klose has scored more goals than anyone else in World Cups

A humble scoring machine known for his positional and finishing ability, Miroslav Klose scored his 16th goal in the 2014 World Cup, breaking the all-time record and becoming the all-time World Cup goalscorer in history.

Klose had his first World Cup appearance in the 2002 World Cup and had scored an unbeaten record of five goals, all from headers. He is also the all-time record goalscorer for Germany, with 71 goals in 137 games for Die Mannschaft, who also netted 16 goals in the tournament across 4 editions in 2006 Germany, 2010 South Africa and the 2014 Rio World Cup.

A prolific goalscorer, Klose was also well-known for his ethical style of play on the field and built close-knit connections with fans ff the field. Klose ended his international career after lifting the World Cup trophy along with setting the record of scoring the most World Cup goals.
