The Reds are on high alert as former player Xabi Alonso‘s contract talks have been stalled at Real Madrid. Liverpool will look to bring the Spaniard back to Anfield should the player decide to leave Real Madrid.
Alonso, 31, became a Liverpool fan favorite during his time with the Merseyside club. Since his transfer to Real Madrid, he has been an integral part of the Spanish giants.
However, his current employees want to keep the talented player and have offered him a contract extension. With Alonso’s current contract set to expire in 2014, he still hasn’t responded to the offer.
The midfielder is not in any hurry to sign the new contract and wants to see what happens about Jose Mourinho, who is thought to leave the club at the end of the season.
