Portugal beat Spain on penalties to regain UEFA Nations League crown.

Portugal became the first nation to claim the UEFA Nations League crown twice following their penalty shootout victory over their Iberian neighbors, Spain. The win sees the Portuguese claim their third international trophy and wrap up an impressive campaign in the tournament.

La Roja opened the scoring in the 21st minute after Martin Zubimendi finished amid pandemonium in the Selecao box to give his side the lead. PSG star Nuno Mendes restored parity five minutes after surging into the box to make it 1-1.

The Spanish restored their lead just before halftime through Mikel Oyarzabal in the 45th minute, but the Portuguese made it 2-2 16 minutes after the break thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo's keen senses in the box. The game would fail to produce any more goals despite various attempts from both sides, and had to be decided via a penalty shootout.

Alvaro Morata missed the crucial penalty in the exchange, allowing Ruben Neves to convert from the Spot to give Portugal the win.
