Sergio Romero - 6/10

The Argentine shot-stopper produced a good save early on from Jordan Green and was convincing enough with his handling of the ball throughout the game. Romero was largely untroubled in the second half and registered a clean sheet to his name on the night.

Matteo Darmian - 6/10

The Italian struggled against the direct runs forced on him by Ryan Dickson on a couple of instances. He would have enjoyed more involvement going forward especially considering the gulf in class between the two sides. However, Darmian managed to grab an assist in the dying moments of the game when he set-up Lingard for United's third goal.

Victor Lindelof - 6/10

Lindelof was relatively calm and composed in comparison to his centre-back partner in Rojo. The Sweden international is still adapting to the physicality in English football and the experience will help him in bridging the room for improvement in his game.

Marcos Rojo - 5/10

The Argentine wasn't at his best and was lucky to escape a booking in the game. Rojo made a few silly challenges in the first half and was constantly kept on his toes by Surridge, who exposed the nerves inside the United defender.

Luke Shaw - 7/10

Shaw put in a sublime shift on the left flank for United. The youngster was comfortable in possession and bombed forward in support on countless occasions. The left-back is slowly getting back to his best and will hope to keep up the good work.

Ander Herrera - 7/10

The Spaniard made his 150th appearance for the club on the night and made it a night to remember when he got on the end of a pass from Sanchez to make it 2-0 for United in the 61st minute. Herrera might still find it difficult to re-establish himself as a constant starter for United considering the talent the Red Devils have in their ranks.

Michael Carrick - 7/10

Carrick captained the team on the night and returned to first-team football for the first time since September. However, the Englishman did not let that bother him too much and grew in confidence as the game progressed and went on to notch up 90 minutes of playing time at Huish Park.

Scott McTominay - 8/10

The United academy graduate impressed yet again for the Red Devils as he formed a formidable partnership with Carrick and Herrera in midfield. McTominay was a strong presence on the ball and directed the play down the middle with his confident passing and quick movement.

Juan Mata - 6/10

Mata had a second-half goal ruled out for offside and was the first United player to be taken off on the night. The Spaniard looked a little off pace on the right flank and could not get the better of his counterpart.

Marcus Rashford - 7/10

Despite showing great determination to make full use of the defensive calamity with his predatory instincts in front of goal right at the end of the first half, Rashford was more of a frustrated figure throughout the game. The striker failed to stretch the hosts at the back but provided the vital opening United needed to kick-on.

Alexis Sanchez - 9/10

Dream debut!
Dream debut!

Sanchez was the key talking point of the game even before a ball was kicked and he rightfully answered his critics by putting in a stellar show for his new club. The Chilean dominated and responded with his quick feet and burst of pace against the boos on offer against him by the home supporters.

Substitutes:

Romelu Lukaku - 7/10

United's top-scorer was introduced just after the hour mark and he took his tally for the season to 18 goals in all competitions with a calm finish in second-half stoppage time to cap off a convincing win for the Red Devils.

Jesse Lingard - 7/10

Lingard replaced Man of the Match Alexis Sanchez in the 72nd minute and joined the party by grabbing a goal in the 89th minute to put the result beyond any doubt for the Red Devils.

Angel Gomes - N/A

Came on in the 88th minute for Marcus Rashford but came ever so close to scoring with his first touch of the game. However, he wasn't afforded enough time to make a mark.
