Jesse Lingard has impressed hin his loan spells this season

England U-21 manager Gareth Southgate has called up 4 Manchester United players, for England’s U-21 Euro Qualifier against Wales and for the Toulon Tournament.

The players who’ve been called up are goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, defender Michael Keane, midfielder Jesse Lingard and winger Wilfried Zaha.

The match will be played on 19th May at Swansea City’s home ground Liberty Stadium. Jesse Lingard and Wilfreid Zaha are only available to play against Wales and not the Toulon Tournament, as they are older than the given age criteria.

On the other hand, Michael Keane and Sam Johnstone are available for all 4 matches including the Toulon Tournament. England lead the Group by 6 points, and they are yet to play Lithuania and Moldova, both the matches scheduled to be held later this year. The Toulon Tournament which will be held later this month, where England face Qatar, Colombia, Brazil and South Korea.

The first game will be played against Qatar on 22nd May, the next game is against Brazil on 26th May, the third game against South Korea on 28th May and the final game will be played against Colombia on 30th May.

On the other hand, Manchester United’s young midfielder Ben Pearson and young striker James Wilson are included by Noel Blake in the initial 23 man training squad, for the Elite round of qualifiers for the Under-19 European Championships. The squad will later be trimmed down to 18. The first match is on 24th May.
