Zenit St Petersburg respond with epic comebacks after UK newspaper disrespects the club badge

You don’t ever mess with Zenit Saint Petersburg

If you’re a football fan and spend a lot of time on social media, then you will have surely seen a video or two from Zenit Saint Petersburg. The Russian Premier League club is known for coming up with some hilariously creative clips that went viral on the internet – especially those which involved star forward Hulk showcasing various feats of strength.

And this time, they were at their best after a popular newspaper daily disrespected their club badge. The Mail Online published a piece online which listed the ‘Worst club badges in football’ with Zenit among the top 10.

Obviously, the Russian club did not take it well (as they shouldn’t since nobody has a right to disrespect club badges). The official Twitter account responded within a couple of hours and the reply was a fitting response to an article that even got a number of negative comments from the readers.

The Mail Online eventually tried to do some damage control, first apologising to the club and then tweeting an image of the older club logo they said they ‘preferred’. They even went on to talk about how they won the UEFA Cup with that badge – another sorry statement that really doesn’t mean anything as clubs change badges all the time.

No surprise then that Zenit responded in a fitting manner yet again and shut them up for good!
