Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane could be banned for up to six months if he is found guilty of being the Real Madrid B-team coach without the right licence.

The former France international is reportedly not qualified to coach the Real Madrid Castilla, according to Spain’s national association of coaches CENAFE, who filed the complaint.

The B-team currently plays in the Spanish third division, and they aren’t doing too well after getting relegated last season. And this season has started off with three losses in their first four matches.

Zidane is only second coach, not first coach: Real Madrid

The club claim that Sergio Sanchez is the first coach and that Zidane is only his assistant.

But those who made the complaint gave evidence in the form of documents and videos which show that the former World Cup winner was carrying out the duties of the first coach.

This is a breach in rule 104 of the code and Zidane could either be banned for 4-16 games or one to six months.

Zidane does not have the right diploma

To be a first coach in Spain, one must have a level 3 national coaching diploma. Zidane does not have the necessary qualification and cannot be a first coach.

Miguel Galan, the president of CENAFE, said: “Real Madrid is one of the most recognisable sporting institutions in the world and a symbol of this sport.

“But they have to follow the same rules as everyone else otherwise the competition is not fair.”
