Zinedine Zidane believes Lionel Messi playing in 'El Clasico' bad news for Real Madrid

Zidane is adamant that Messi’s involvement in the Clasico will be bad for Madrid

Real Madrid legend and current RM Castilla coach Zinedine Zidane has accepted that Lionel Messi achieving full fitness before the Clasico will be bad news for Real Madrid, ESPNFC reports.

The four-times Ballon d’Or winner has scored 21 times against arch-rivals Real Madrid.

"Everyone wants to see Messi on the pitch, all the time," Zidane told Sport Bild.

"But from Real's point of view I will certainly not say that it'd be good were Messi to take the field."

The Argentine talisman recently returned to full training for the Blaugrana and has been tipped by many to make a return to action in El Clasico to be played on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu. He had previously injured his medical collateral ligament while playing Las Palmas in September in a Liga tie.

The French midfielder, who himself won the FIFA Player of the year award thrice in his career thinks that any team in the world would need a player like Messi and Barcelona are no different.

"Do Barcelona need him? Sorry, we are talking about Messi here. Every team in the world would be delighted to have someone like him on board," he said.

Kroos is perfect for Real: Zidane

The midfielder also stated his views on Toni Kroos, and how much he is impressed by the German’s transformation since moving to the La Liga. The 43-year old even went on to say that it’s hard to believe that Kroos is a German player anymore.

"He has changed his game since he got here," Zidane said.

"We knew that he's used to German football, and that the Spanish game is way different, and is also about beauty, especially here at Real. But he immediately adapted [to] this style.”

"By now, it's hard to believe that he's actually German," he said with a smile.

He further added that Kroos is just about the perfect player for Los Blancos and he hopes "that he will stay at Real for longer."

"We love him, Toni is exactly the player we did not have. He is perfect for Real."

Karim Benzema is a doubt for the first Clasico of this season as he suffered a hamstring injury on October 8 while playing for the Les Bleus. He is also under investigation in a case involving a sex tape blackmail of his France teammate Mathieu Valbuena.

On the other hand, Sergio Ramos who aggravated his shoulder injury while scoring a goal against Sevilla has decided to play in the match and will go under the knife after the crucial tie against arch-rivals Barcelona.
