Manchester United versus Everton was a physically enticing battle which ended 1-1 with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Leighton Baines scoring for their respective sides. Many interesting individual battles were on show at the Goodison but an incident involving Ibrahimovic allegedly kicking Seamus Coleman in the head gained media's attention.

It was reported that the Swedish striker might face retrospective charges for his actions but it has now come to the fore that Ibrahimovic is set to face no FA charges for kicking Coleman.

Ibrahimovic and Coleman went in for a 50/50 challenge with both of them falling awkwardly after the tackle. It was after the tackle that the question of Ibrahimovic kicking with his heel arose as Everton players appealed against the Swedish forward with Coleman writhing in pain. A prospective ban would have diminished United's chances of challenging for the top spot with Jose Mourinho already behind league leaders Chelsea by 13 points.

In an interview with MUTV after the game, Zlatan Ibrahimovic pleaded his innocence in a rather bizarre way as he said, "It was a physical game. They played hard. I heard one of the commentators say I kicked someone in the head on purpose, but it was a 50-50 duel and he pulled me down. Trust me, if I want to kick someone in the head, I know how to kick someone in the head and make him fall asleep. That is the only thing I have to say."

Referee Michael Oliver had not seen the incident which had opened the way for the regulatory committee to pose a potential ban on United's top scorer of this season. Oliver is not going to include the occurrence in his match report but according to Daily Star, FA bosses have realised that it was an unfortunate incident and Ibrahimovic has nothing to answer for it.

Jose Mourinho will be mightily pleased as United face a number of crucial fixtures in the next few days starting with next Premier League game against Spurs. The Portuguese manager has himself been summoned by the FA twice this season resulting in fines and touchline bans with the latest being for kicking a water bottle against West Ham in the Premier League. It resulted in a one-match touchline ban for the Manager which he served in their EFL Cup quarterfinals against the Hammers.
