Fortnite: How to deal damage with an Ex-Caliber rifle to opponents

Yesterday, Fortnite released update v23.50, which included a variety of quests for players to do to receive free rewards. Loopers have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Oathbound Quests and part two of the Geralt of Rivia quests, and now they can finally take part in them.

The Most Wanted event, which had players heisting cold-blooded medallions with exotic weapons, has been replaced by new quests. This update also took away keycards and vault bosses, leaving the vaults open and empty at the end of the event.

However, part two of the Geralt of Rivia questline is now available, and completing it will give players free cosmetics from The Witcher collaboration. To complete one of the challenges, loopers must use an Ex-Caliber rifle to damage their opponents in core game modes on the island.

Fortnite Quest guide: Deal damage with an Ex-Caliber rifle to opponents

The Geralt of Rivia Quests Part 2 has a challenge that requires players to deal damage with an Ex-Caliber Rifle to their opponents. Loopers can try and finish the mission in Battle Royale, Zero Build, or Team Rumble modes for a free Witcher's Dawn weapon wrap reward.

To efficiently complete the quest in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 1, follow these steps:

1) Open the Quests tab to check the amount of damage you need to deal to opponents

Head to the Quests tab on the Fortnite home screen and select Geralt of Rivia Page 2. Once you have clicked it, you will see that 500 damage must be dealt with an Ex-Caliber rifle to complete the quest.

2) Jump out of the Battle Bus and land at The Citadel

The Ex-Caliber rifle is a weapon that players can acquire through Oathbound Chests. These chests have the highest spawn rate at The Citadel, where The Ageless Champion also resides and hunts down intruders. To ensure you get your loot, jumping out of the Battle Bus and landing directly in the middle of The Citadel on the Fortnite island is best.

3) Go to the Throne Room and open an Oathbound Chest

When you arrive, go to the Throne Room and look for an Oathbound Chest. Open it up and get your hands on the Ex-Caliber rifle. If that doesn't work out, explore other rooms upstairs until you find another Oathbound Chest with the weapon you need to finish your Fortnite quest.

4) Spot The Ageless Champion and fire your weapon

Once you have the weapon, you can take a more cautious approach and search for opponents to damage with your rifle or challenge The Ageless Champion directly.

If you go all in, shoot at The Ageless Champion with your rifle, which will deal 137 damage if you hit a headshot and 55 for body shots. The rifle also deals 55 explosive damage, so it is an effective way of racking up on damage points needed to complete the quest.

5) Take cover and keep firing the weapon until your quest is completed

Taking cover is crucial, as The Ageless Champion can be ruthless with his Shockwave Hammer. If you're having trouble finding the Ex-Caliber Rifle from Oathbound Quests, you can take on The Ageless Champion and try to beat him.

Doing so will reward you with a Mythic Ex-Caliber Rifle that does more damage than the regular one. You can also complete the Fortnite quest in Team Rumble mode for a more effortless finish.

Once you reach 500 damage points, your quest is done, and your free reward awaits in the lobby for you to redeem.
