According to leaks, the Masamune Blades will be added to the game as a new gameplay item(s). Given that the name directly references the legendary swordsmith Gorō Nyūdō Masamune, the item/weapon will take inspiration from his creations. By the looks of things, it could be featured in-game as a Mythic/Exotic item/weapon.

There are a total of 61 Masamune Blades/Swords crafted by the legendary swordsmith that exist in the world today. As such, it is impossible to say which one could be featured in-game. However, taking into account that his magnum opus is the Honjō Masamune, it could be used as the reference for the Masamune Blades.
It is considered by many to be one of the finest Japanese swords to have ever been crafted during the Edo Period. Of course, his other exquisite metallic works of art such as Fudo Masamune, Musashi Masamune, Hōchō Masamune, Kotegiri Masamune, and Tantō Masamune, are all potential references for Masamune Blades.
Furthermore, with the theme of Chapter 6 Season 1 allegedly focusing on Samurai and Japanese Mythology, it fits perfectly into place. Now, it is left to be seen how Epic Games will interpret this legendary sword and feature it in-game. With Kinetic Ore out of the picture, it is unlikely to function like the Kinetic Blade from Chapter 4 Season 2 (MEGA). In all probability, it will function like a normal Katana.
When compiling information from other leaks such as cat-like animals called "Sprites" and the upcoming Boss "Puppeteer" (Yūrei), it all makes sense now. Chapter 6 Season 1 will undoubtedly holistically focus on Japan, quite possibly the Edo Period in terms of art style. Finer aspects such as upcoming characters, weapons, and other aspects could also be Japanese-inspired to a large extent.
