BADLAND: Game of the Year edition will be releasing for the PC and consoles

A shot from BADLAND

If you’ve visited the Play Store in the past year then you’ve probably come across the mobile video game BADLAND. Developed by Frogmind Games, BADLAND released back in 2013 and has done extremely well, gaining over 2 million downloads and critical praise as well as several BAFTA nominations and awards, including the award for Apple’s iPad Game of The Year. In fact the game has gotten so popular that the developers have decided to release BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition for eight new platforms.

Porting the game for eight different platforms won’t be an easy task for a small time indie developer, which is why Frogmind will be partnering up with several other indie studios to help achieve this goal. The studio has teamed up with Finnish game-developers Frozenbyte(better known for creating the Trine series) for their publishing and marketing work while Blitworks(creators Spelunky and Bastion) will be helping them porting the game.

BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition is expected to release in Spring 2015 for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, MAC, Linux, and Windows platforms. The game will also include more content than the original title, with over 15 hours of gameplay and 100 levels. The Game of Year Edition will also feature 100 co-op stages and 27 multiplayer death match levels, which can be played over a four-person local multiplayer.
