What's the story?

FIFA Mobile continues to spew up some interesting numbers and ratings and the next big surprise in this riveting world is the inclusion of Chelsea defender David Luiz as numero uno in the mobile version of the game.

The Brazilian takes the top spot with an overall rating of 100 according to FUThead.com and comfortably beats Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak for the prime position. In fact, Luiz beats Oblak in every department and is a clear leader ahead of the rest of the pack which includes big names such as Eden Hazard, Kaka and Neymar in the top bracket of the ratings.

In case you didn't know...

Luiz's second spell at Chelsea has in a way solidified his renaissance in world football. A big money move to PSG from the Blues a few years ago didn't seem entirely right and the player has more than done his bit back in London with stellar performances in a successful campaign last season. He has continued his good form this time around too and remains one of the most influential players around Stamford Bridge.

The heart of the matter

Seeing Luiz at the pinnacle of FIFA Mobile may come as a surprise to many but these ratings are very much legitimate and work according to a variety of important factors. Fan selection has also been quite high for the defender and he leads the rest comprehensively.

The list of top 10 players includes some other surprising names as well. Tottenham Hotspur's Son Heung Min has also been featured on the list with an impressive pace rating of 104. The likes of Angel Di Maria of PSG and Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund also make up the prime numbers in the game.

What is most surprising however is the absence of both Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi from the top 10. The duo feature down the order and that could be due to their relatively slow start to the season.

What's next?

FIFA Mobile will continue to update their ratings as we dig our teeth into the new season of world football and promises some interesting changes throughout the course of the season.

Author's take

Luiz's hard work appears to have paid off at least in a virtual capacity and it will give him the confidence to play yet another excellent season in a Chelsea shirt. Blues fans will hope that he keeps up the good work.
