The much-awaited FIFA 18 FUT Champions Cup Tournament is finally here. The Global Series will feature the top players in FUT 18 who qualified for the tournament via their incredible performances and subsequent positions in the League leaderboard as of November. The high-octane world of gaming has been given a boost with the advent of the tournament which ropes in a huge amount of viewers every year with plenty more expected this time around due to a tweak in the format of the tournament.
This year, fans will be treated to more entertainment than ever as the Champions Cup will have a brand new format intended to increase the quantity and the quality of matches with the main purpose being that each player earns their win to move forward. This year's tournament will be broadcast live from one of the world's most famous footballing cities, Barcelona in Spain. Top gamers will have to fight it out among other elite competitors in order to book their place in the next round of the competition.
From the results of the leaderboard, a total of 128 FUT Champions will make their way for the Global Series and battle it out with the top 16 players moving on to the Global Series playoffs to be organised later this year.
Money is on the line like never before as a total of $200,000 USD worth prizes are up for grabs. The winner will receive $22,000 for their troubles with the rest as per the top 64. The tournament will be played on the PlayStation 4 as well as Xbox One consoles. The Grand Final will be played in a two-game round between the PlayStation 4 division and the Xbox One division. The highest aggregate score takes home the ultimate prize.
