FIFA 18 release date narrowed down to September 26

FIFA 18 is set to release on September 26

Every year as the calendar strikes April, football fans across the world begin discussing the potential release date of the upcoming FIFA series. The year 2018 is no different, earlier this week, social media platform was abuzz regarding FIFA 18’s release date with little or no clarity over the issue. However, sources close to EA Sports have confirmed to Sportskeeda that the game will most likely release on September 26, 2017.

Our source said, ”I don’t know whether you have noticed the pattern, but FIFA 15 was released on September 23, 2014, which was a Tuesday, FIFA 16 on September 26, which was again a Tuesday and then FIFA 17 on September 27, again a Tuesday. So we most probably will not deviate from that, but there is a lot of work which is left to develop ‘The Journey’ second edition.

“Hence it might be postponed, but the chances seem low as we are working round the clock to complete it. Of course certain things can only be done at the end of the season, like player ratings etc, but that will be a similar process to last seasons.”

The game will likely be priced at £49.99, the same as the previous edition. Our source added, “Regarding ISL, we are looking at a potential inclusion, but that is not confirmed yet. We want to definitely give enough back to the Indian community as they have accepted our game so well. Hence, we will definitely look at it. But I cannot confirm anything as of now.”

The game is likely to include as many as three new leagues with Chinese Super League (CSL) already confirmed as the latest entrant. Whether EA Sports includes high transfer kitties for those teams, only time will tell. Our source added, “Even the German third division could be included due to popular demand, some old favourites currently play that division and EA Sports is contemplating on bringing it in, similar to the English system.”

The FIFA series is expected to release primarily on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch with little to no clarity over its future on the PS 3 platform.
