NBA 2K14 servers will be shutting down by the end of March

NBA 2K14 released in Octover 1st, 2014

2K Games will be permanently shutting down the NBA 2K14 servers by the end of this month. The NBA 2K14 servers are set to go offline on March 31st, 2015. Players will still be able to play the game, though online modes will be inaccessible starting from March 31st. NBA 2K15 released on October 1st, 2013, which is barely a year and a half ago. It seems a little too early to shut down the games servers, but this is the sad truth about annually released sports games. Most 2K and EA titles have an extremely short server life span, as many players tend to shift to the newest title.

They made the following announcement on the games official forums:

“NBA 2K14 server to be discontinued 3/31/15.You will no longer be able to play ranked games/online association.”

The servers for NBA 2K15, WWE 2K14, WWE 2K15, Top Spin 3 and Top Spin 4 are still currently active. The longest running server seems to be that for Top Spin 3, which released way back in 2008. For those of you who still own a copy of NBA 2K14, its best to play the ranked games before it goes offline forever.

NBA 2K14 is currently available for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC and Android platforms. You can check out our list of Top Ten 3 Point Shooters in NBA 2K14 here.
