What’s the story?
EA Sports has announced its annual EA Play event scheduled to be held in Los Angeles from June 10 to June 12, 2017. In the event, the multi-game publisher will show off the biggest games of the year, including FIFA 18, Need For Speed and a new Star Wars Battlefront.
This event will give some lucky gamers the opportunity of playing the yet to be released instalments of their favourite games before anyone else in the world. Limited tickets for this event go on sale on April 20 at 9 am PST (10.30pm IST).
"For players, content creators, media, industry partners and more, EA Play 2017 will deliver a network of experiences to celebrate a world of play," EA said in its statement.
In case you didn’t know…
As an alternative to the Electronic Entertainment Expo, the new event, EA Play, was launched only last year. It is a public event that aims to give the people an exposure to the publisher’s upcoming lineup of games for PCs and home consoles.
Last year, fans got the chance to try out "Titanfal"l and "Star Wars Battlefront", two months prior to their worldwide release.

The heart of the matter
Last year, at this same event, EA had shown off the brand new Journey Mode of FIFA 17, which turned out to be a huge success. This year, as well, one can expect EA to show off new features of FIFA 18.
Previously, EA CEO Andrew Wilson had confirmed that the second season of the Journey Mode will be a feature of FIFA 18 and this event could be the perfect platform to showcase the new, refreshed version of the popular mode.
Fans can also expect to get the first looks for Madden NFL 18, NBA Live 18, and more. However, it is not yet confirmed whether the next Need For Speed and Star Wars Battlefront experiences would be all-new games or just an add-on content.
For those who are unable to make it to Hollywood in June, EA has promised direct access from EA Play online to the gamers, with “detailed gameplay deep dives, competitive events and exclusive interviews”.
