FIFA 17 player standoffs are becoming a trend on YouTube and footballers Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante haven’t escaped the imminent comparison. So how do you decide who is a better midfielder between these two?
Many have praised Kante and even Sir Alex Ferguson agrees that he is ‘by far the best player in the league’. Playing as a central midfielder, Kante is known for his ball-winning capabilities and energy on the field.
YouTubers Rich Leigh and BMOnus did an experiment to find out how effective Kante would be if he played all the positions in a FIFA 17 team - a Manchester United team of 11 Kantes against a Manchester United team of 11 Pogbas in a league.
FIFA 17’s career mode lets you create your own players and teams, and even sell or buy players. The two YouTubers even came up with funny names for the Pogbas and Kantes that they pitted against each other. They then simulated five premiership games and the team with the highest points at the end was declared the winner.
Kante and Pogba both have a rating of above 80 in midfield as well as attack. But, they both fall below 80 in defence, and as keepers, Pogba is at 14 while Kante, at 19.
The first simulation match with Bournemouth was no shocker with a 4-0 loss for Team Kante, while Team Pogba lost 3-1. The next simulation match with Southampton went well for Team Kante with a 1-1 draw, while Team Pogba lost 1-2.

Both the teams lost the third simulation 4-1 against Hull City. Team Kante suffered a heavy defeats in the last two games, while Team Pogba still managed to score three goals.
Team Kante lost the player standoff with on goal difference. They had a -14 goal difference, while Team Pogba had a -7 goal difference. Also, the latter managed to score at least one goal in all the simulated games, while Team Kante scored only two goals combined in all games.
