About Nepal Tour of Netherlands, 2018
After recently gaining the ODI status from the International Cricket Council, the Nepalese cricket team is all set to tour to the Netherlands for a two match ODI series. One of the very fast upcoming teams in the international cricket, Nepal will also be touring England for a T20 tri-series against the Dutch and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
The Nepalese cricket team will tour the Netherlands in August 2018 to play two ODI matches against the Dutch cricket team. It will be the first ODI series to be played by Nepal since they were awarded ODI status during the 2018 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
The two ODI matches will be played on 01 and 03 August and will be the first ODIs on home soil since 2013 for the Dutch.
Nepal and the Netherlands last played at the World Cup Qualifiers in Zimbabwe in March, which the former lost by 45 runs.
Sandeep Lamichhane is expected to be one of the biggest threats for Netherlands, considering his recent performances in the Indian Premier League. The leg spinner played a vital role in his franchise Delhi Daredevils who brought him for Rs. 20 lakhs in the auction.
On the other hand, Roelof van der Merwe will be a key player for the Dutch. The left arm spinner has taken 17 wickets in ODI’s in just 13 matches which include two three-wicket hauls. Perfectly capable with bat as well, he will be looking with strong numbers in the runs column as well.
Having received ODI status recently, Nepal meanwhile will be looking to create a good name in international cricket. It will be exciting and interesting to see the associate teams making good efforts and rise up their ranks.
