The ZOZO Championship is the fifth event on the 2024 FedEx Cup schedule. The event begins on Thursday, October 24, with a star-studded field led by Xander Schauffele and defending champion Collin Morikawa.
Schauffele and Morikawa are the two players with the best odds to win the ZOZO Championship, according to the specialized websites like SportsLine.
SportsLine has Schauffele at +450 odds to win the ZOZO Championship, as he is coming off the best season of his career to date, including two major titles and 13 top-10 finishes.
The World No. 2 described winning the event as "a cherry on top". Here is part of what he said (via Golfweek):
"It would be a cherry on top. I have a lot of my family that will be out and my grandparents will be out. I don't get to see them very often, so delivering the gold medal to them was really special during that COVID year. I think delivering another win in front of 'em and for 'em would be even more special."
Meanwhile, Morikawa (+650) also had a solid season on the PGA Tour with eight top 10s in 2024. The 2023 ZOZO Championship title is the latest in his trophy cabinet.
The Japanese stop on the PGA Tour will feature local idol Hideki Matsuyama (+750), as well as other stars such as Sahith Theegala (+1600), Justin Thomas (+2000) and Min Woo Lee (+3500).
