How different the TGL will be from conventional golf?

The TGL will be played indoors at SoFi Center in Florida, for sponsorship reasons. It will be played on a simulator and a virtual course designed specifically for the league.

The competition will have some differences from conventional golf. Players will not be exposed to the effects of bad weather, such as rain or wind. Nor will they have to walk 18 holes as they would on a traditional course.

However, the simulator will include other features that emulate outdoor golf. Players will hit their shots from grass, rough, or sand, depending on the situation. The virtual course also includes a realistic putting green.

Other new features of the league will be the presence of a clock and a referee. Players will have 40 seconds to complete each shot, otherwise they will be penalized.

Each match will have two sessions. In the first session, players will compete in a three-player team event in a nine-hole alternate shot format. In the second session, the matches will be singles over six holes.

Each team will play three players in each match, with one player resting. All players will be mic'd up during the matches.

The league will have a 15-match regular season. There will then be playoffs to determine the champion. The league purse will be $25 million, with $9 million going to the champion team. The winners will also receive the SoFi Cup.
