5 big names missing from the 2024 US Open ft. Patrick Reed

The 2024 US Open will begin this week at Pinehurst Golf Course No. 2. The 124th US Open will have 156 golfers in the field, with 60 golfers qualifying through local qualifiers, while the remaining made it through various exemptions.

Despite that, there are a few golfers who missed out or did not showcase any interest in qualifying for the 2024 US Open. The majority of these golfers are the ones who compete on the LIV Golf circuit and do not receive any OWGR points.

So, 5 big names among the golfers who will not be competing this week at the 2024 US Open are Patrick Reed, Joaquin Neimann Louis Oosthuzuian, Lee Westwood, and Taylor Gooch.

Patrick Reed, Lee Westwood, Taylor Gooch, and Louis Oosthuizen decided not to contest this year as he was not eligible for any exemptions. Hence, these golfers chose not to try qualifying through local qualifiers. Neimann was the only golfer who tried qualifying through local qualifiers but unfortunately couldn't make it through.

Joaquin Niemann failed to qualify for the 2024 US Open

Sergio Garcia and Adam Scott also failed to qualify through local qualifiers but received a late exemption from the USGA. Hence, we will see both golfers competing this week in the 2024 US Open.
