Europe had won in 2021 and the rules state that in the event of a tie, the team holding the trophy retains it.The 2024 edition will be the 19th edition of the event. The United States has won 10 editions to Europe's eight. The 2023 edition is the only tie in history. Europe has held the trophy since 2019, when they won at Gleneagles. They repeated the triumph two years later in Inverness.
