Adam Scott is chasing his second major title as he heads into the final round of the 2025 US Open at Oakmont. The Australian will tee off at 2:15 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 15, sitting just one shot behind leader Sam Burns in a tie for second after carding a 3-under 67 in Round 3.

The 44-year-old Scott is one of the few players who hasn’t gone over par in any round so far. In Round 3, he made only one bogey and climbed the leaderboard into the final group for Sunday’s finale.

This week marks Scott’s 96th consecutive major appearance, the second-longest streak in history behind Jack Nicklaus. Despite his long career, he has only one major win, which came at the 2013 Masters. But now, 12 years later, he has a chance to make history with the longest gap between major victories.

Speaking about his current position and potential second major, Scott said via Flushing It Golf on Instagram:

“It would be super fulfilling. Everyone out here has got their journey. Putting ourselves in these positions doesn’t just happen by fluke. It’s not easy to do it. I really haven’t been in this kind of position for five or six years, or feeling like I’m that player. But that’s what I’m always working toward."

He added,

“If I were to come away with it tomorrow, it would be a hell of a round of golf and an exclamation point on my career.”

Notably, Scott hasn’t played in the final group of a major since the 2018 PGA Championship, and his last PGA Tour win came in 2020 at the Genesis Invitational.

Statistically, Adam Scott ranks third in strokes gained: tee to green this week. He’s been accurate off the tee and solid with his irons, also ranking third in proximity to the hole. Heading into the final round, Scott has some serious chances to break through and win the title at Oakmont.
