LIV golfers performed amazingly at the PIF Saudi International, which concluded on Sunday (February 5). Abraham Ancer won the trophy with a score deficit of 19. He carded a final two-under-par 68 to finish two shots ahead of Cameron Young.

It was his fourth professional victory. Ancer took home $1,000,000 along with a trophy on Sunday.

He was extremely happy with his success and shared his experience playing at the Saudi Tournament. Ancer said:

Another very solid round. Happy with no dropped shots. That's always my goal. On a golf course like this where it's blowing pretty good, I'm really, really happy. My ball-striking has definitely been on, and I've been rolling it really nice all week.”

He went on to say:

“Yeah, extremely happy [with Saudi International win]. Not really focused on what everybody else is doing. Just trying to play the same game I've been playing the past three days. It's nice to see my name up there. Can't really focus on that. Just got to do it again.”

The next LIV golfer to make headlines at Saudi International is Joaquin Niemann, who finished at T10 alongside Matthew Wolff. Neimann finished the tournament with a scoring deficit of 10.

Anirban Lahiri finished in T12 alongside Kyongjun Moon, Jbe Kruger, Shubhankar Sharma, Charl Schwartzel, and Talor Gooch. Lahiri finished the final round with a score of 66.

LIV golfer Bernd Wiesberger secured the eighteenth position, while Patrick Reed finished in T25.

English golfer Ian Poulter ended Sunday's round by settling in alongside Graeme McDowell and Hennie Du Plessis at T-35.

Louis Oosthuizen finished the day at T28, Brooks Koepka at T46, Pat Parez at T53, and Lee Westwood at T58.

How did PGA Tour players perform at the Saudi International?

Following the controversy between the LIV Golf and PGA Tours, the Saudi-backed series of golfers were suspended from competing on the American tour. However, PGA golfers requested to compete in the PIF Saudi International and were fortunate to receive waivers to compete at the tournament.

PGA Tour players Cameron Young, Cameron Champ, and Lucas Herbert competed at the tournament and impressed people with their impressive performances.

Young finished second, while Herbert finished third. However, Champ tied up at T35.

The LIV Golf and PGA Tour battle is still on, however, until the hearing players are allowed to compete in the Asian Tour and DP World Tour. However, they are completely barred from playing on the PGA Tour.

Interestingly, the LIV golfers have also received an invitation to compete at the Masters scheduled to take place in April.

Amidst all this, Greg Norman, CEO of LIV golf, posted about a tournament between LIV Golfers and PGA Tour players. He suggested a match between the two controversial series.
