The 2023 Players Championship is finally here. The event, featuring a 144-player field, will tee off on Thursday, March 9, at the Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The event has a prize purse of $25 million.

With a whopping prize money, valuable OGWR, and FedEx Cup points on offer, the Players Championship is set to be one of the biggest events of the 2023 PGA Tour calendar. The event will also feature the top three in the world rankings along with other big names. Unsurprisingly, Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy are leading the event’s odds list.

According to betting experts, the World No. 1 and No. 3 top the odds list. The duo are co-favorites with odds of 17-2, edging past World No. 2 Scottie Scheffler. As per SportsLine, the American comes in with 10-1 odds. He is followed by Justin Thomas (19-1), Max Homa (19-1) and Patrick Cantlay (19-1) on the PGA Tour odds board. Xander Schauffele, Viktor Hovland, Tony Finau, Collin Morikawa, and Jordan Spieth are the other big names topping the odds list.

It is pertinent to note that defending champion Cameron Smith will miss the event due to his defection to LIV Golf. With the Aussie out of contention, the Players Championship will crown a new champion on Sunday.
