Rory McIlroy partners with investment firm for $250,000,000 deal to acquire majority stake in no fee ticketing service company

Irish professional golfer Rory McIlroy was recently spotted playing at the FedEx St. Jude Championship. While McIlroy had an unimpressive showing in the competition, he managed to qualify for the ongoing BMW Championship as he is ranked fifth in the FedEx Cup standings.

However, it's important to note that the golf course is not the only place Rory McIlroy is making a move in. As per reports, McIlroy has partnered with Brighton Park Capital, a major investment firm, to invest a total of $250,000,000 to acquire a majority stake in a company called TickPick.

For those unaware, TickPick is a no-fee ticketing service company. As per their website, the company provides people with the best deals on live events like sports matches and concerts. The company was founded by Chris O'Brien and Brett Goldberg in 2011.

With this move, Rory McIlroy has added to his long list of investments. Last year, McIlroy partnered with some prominent athletes to invest $210.97 million in the Alpine F1 Team. Apart from this, Symphony Ventures, an investment fund started by McIlroy has invested in more than 10 companies so far.

Rory McIlroy has also made some prominent investments in the sport of golf. While he heavily invested in a golf management company named Troon three years ago, he also backed Golf Genius Software, and partnered with NBC to launch GolfPass in an online mode.
