Fans on social media have reacted to Ryan Fox winning the second PGA Tour event of his career at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open. He defeated Sam Burns in a sudden-death playoff to win the tournament.
After four rounds, Fox extended his third-round lead in a tie with Burns, who was pretty impressive in the final round and jumped 14 spots on the leaderboard. They both headed for a playoff and made pars on the first three playoff holes, but on the fourth hole, the Kiwi golfer seized the title after he made a birdie while Burns had an unfortunate lipped out and narrowly missed winning the game.

A look into Ryan Fox's performance at the 2025 RBC Canadian Open
Fox had an impressive game throughout the 2025 RBC Canadian Open. He started the game with an opening round of 66 and then played another round of 66 on the second day of the tournament to safely make the cut in the event.
He took the lead in the game after 54 holes. He played a round of 64 in the third round and then another round of 66 to manage the lead, and finally won after defeating Burns in the sudden-death playoffs.
His win came just a month after his maiden PGA Tour win. Last month, he won the 2025 ONEFlight Myrtle Beach Classic by defeating Harry Higgs and Mackenzie Hughes in a playoff.
Fox started the 2025 PGA Tour season with a T63 finish at the WM Phoenix Open and then missed the cut in two back-to-back events — the Mexico Open and the Cognizant Classic. He then recorded some decent finishes and even two wins this season.
Some of his other standout performances included a T20 at The Players Championship, the Memorial Tournament, and a T15 at the Texas Children's Houston Open.
