Netflix’s golf documentary series Full Swing is making headlines. The series, which was released on Wednesday, February 15, has become an instant hit owing to its explosive plot points. One of the big talking points revolves around Dustin Johnson’s wife Paulina Gretzky and it’s as entertaining as it gets.

Episode 5 of the series, 'American Dreams', revolves around Matt Fitzpatrick and Dustin Johnson. DJ's part in the episode discusses his controversial move away from the PGA Tour. Backing her husband and his decisions, Paulina slams the people questioning him and says he is “still ready to show you who the f*** he is.”

Johnson’s wife makes the explosive comments while stating that the star golfer will return to play at the Majors. Speaking on Full Swing, Paulina Gretzky said:

“If anyone thinks that Dustin’s lost his competitive spirit, they don’t know Dustin well enough because he is still ready to show you who the f*** he is and there’s a reason why he’s going back to play these majors. He wants to win this just as much as they do.”

It is pertinent to note that the episode featuring Dustin Johnson starts with the golfer’s decision-making process. The episode quickly cuts to a report of Johnson resigning from the PGA Tour and joining LIV Golf. Following this, Gretzky went on to explain her husband’s right choice to defect to the Saudi-backed series.

Gretzky added:

“I don’t think Dustin would ever make a bad choice for his children and people need to understand at the end of the day, that’s what he chose this for.”

It is pertinent to note that Paulina comes from an athletic household. She is the child of famous NHL star Wayne. The star golfer’s wife addressed her mentality towards sports and family.

She said:

“My dad, being a hockey player, I’m sure as a kid there were times where I’m like why does my dad have to play on my birthday? This is about Dustin and the kids and me and taking care of us and being there with us.”

Dustin Johnson 'don't care' if people doubt him

Furthermore, Dustin Johnson himself spoke about his move to LIV Golf in the episode. Responding to a query on whether he believes in himself as a golfer, the golfer states that he “didn’t care” what people thought of him.

The show producer asks:

“Do you think people doubt you because of LIV?”

DJ replies:

“I don’t really care… I know I’m one of the best golfers in the world. I think I’ve proven it over a long period of time.”

It is pertinent to note that Dustin Johnson became a hot topic in the golf world after he reportedly signed a $125 million contract to join LIV Golf. The 38-year-old defected to the tumultuous series and became its MVP. The two-time Major winner won the inaugural season of the series and bagged over $35 million in prize money at the event.
