Before the final round of 2025 U.S. Open, Corey Conners had to withdraw from the golf Major at Oakmont. Unlike popular pros failing to make it past the cutline, the PGA Tour professional was qualified to play in the weekend. As reported by Bob Weeks of TSN, Conners' WD came after he suffered an injury.

The 125th U.S. Open has been a difficult contest with a challenging setup that comprises narrow fairways, thick roughs and lighting fast greens. Conners was consistent with his performance over the first two rounds and even placed himself on the T39 spot of the leaderboard after Round 3. However, his journey was disrupted by a wrist injury.

While Conners was playing on Thursday (June 12), he somehow hit a TV cable which hurt his right wrist. During Round 3, Conners was playing on hole 11 and tried to hack out an approach shot out of a plugged lie. He was seen holding his wrist down and ultimately ended up seeking medical attention.

Before the incident happened, Corey Conners had an incredible beginning at the 2024 U.S. Open at Oakmont on Saturday. The two-time PGA Tour winner was 3 under par through yesterday's first five holes. Conners scored his first round 3 birdie on the par 4 hole 2, followed by a par on hole 3.

It was followed by two back-to-back birdies on par 5 hole 4 and par 4 hole 5. On the back nine, Corey Conners scored back-to-back bogeys on par 4 holes 10 and 11. Conners' injury after hole 11 was instrumental behind his faltering performance as he shot 5 over par on the back nine.

"Corey Conners deserves a full page on his own today. The dude STRIPES it."
"He was obviously in some pain as soon as he hit it and I didn’t think he’d play more honestly... He gutted it out but was def out of rhythm..."

Kim's post also referred to the 20 minutes Conners had to endure before he could be treated by Dr. Stuart Love. The delay in arrival of the Canadian sports chiropractor was due to course logistical issues.
