WATCH: Justin Thomas talks to his ball to make it go in at the Zozo Championship

Justin Thomas is competing in the 2024 Zozo Championship at Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club in Japan. He had a decent start to the campaign, carding -4, and is placed T7 after round one.

Thomas carded five birdies and a bogey in round one, but the day's highlight was him talking to his ball. On the 479 yards par four 11th hole, the 31-year-old golfer reached the green in two and had a 32ft putt for a birdie.

Thomas made the putt and started talking to his ball, instructing it to turn and land inside the hole. The ball seems to have obeyed his orders as he carded his first birdie of the day on his second hole, having teed off from the back nine.

Justin Thomas is looking in sync with his game after a while. He had an average 2024 regular season with five top-10s in 19 events and no wins or runner-up finishes. He is competing for the first time since his T14 finish at the Tour Championship and has looked promising with his game so far.

After round one at the 2024 Zozo Championship, the 15-time PGA Tour winner is four strokes behind the lead as Taylor Moore leads the event with a score of -7.
