Mike Weir is one of the greatest Canadian players of all time and the only one (among men) to have won a major. Although he has been out of the top level for several years, he is still active on the PGA Tour Championship, where he finished T4 this weekend at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic.

Weir's relationship with his ex-wife, Bricia, is remembered well by fans, even though they have been divorced for almost 10 years. They were continuously followed by the media in world golf during the 90s and early 2000s, mainly due to the fame of the golf player at the time.

However, little is known about Bricia, as the couple managed to keep their lives out of the spotlight. The two reportedly met during the golfer's sophomore season at Brigham Young University.

According to the Encyclopedia of World Biography, Bricia Rodriguez is of Mexican descent and grew up in the Los Angeles area of California. The same source states that she was a good tennis player who competed successfully in amateur circuits.

The couple married in 1994 and had two daughters, Elle Marisa and Lily. Bricia was often seen at her husband's tournaments, including his victory at Augusta in 2003. They divorced in 2015.

After the couple separated, little was heard from Bricia. She has completely stayed out of the spotlight, including on social media, although she has a private Instagram account. Her daughters are more active on the platform.

Who is Mike Weir?

Mike Weir, 53, is one of the most important Canadian golfers in history. He is a member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. His victory at The Masters in 2003 is the only major championship win by a male player from his country.

Weir began his professional career in 1992 and became a full member of the PGA Tour in 1998. His best results came between 1999 and 2007, a period in which he won eight times on the main American circuit (including the aforementioned major).

In 461 tournaments played at this level, Weir has made the cut in 270. In addition to his eight wins, his best results include 10 runner-up finishes and 41 other top-10s.

Weir began playing fewer PGA Tour events in 2015. He joined the PGA Tour Champions in 2020, where he has won one event to date (2020 Insperity Invitational).

The current season on the senior circuit has been good for Weir despite the fact that his second victory has yet to come. In 17 tournaments, he has missed the cut only once, with one runner-up finish, two other top 10s and three other top 25s.
