Patrice Bergeron is one of the most well-known ice hockey centers to have played in the NHL. He was born on July 24th, 1985 in L’Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Canada.
Bergeron began his minor hockey career in 1998 with the Sainte-Foy, Quebec City team, and competed in the Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournaments. He also played A hockey for the Seminaire St-François Blizzard before joining the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

On July 25, 2023, the hockey world is left in shock as Patrice Bergeron announced his retirement from the ice hockey. In an emotional letter and a personal statement regarding his future, Bergeron reflected on his career and expressed his love and devotion to his four children: Zack, Victoria, Noah, and Felix.

Patrice Bergeron's NHL career
Patrice Bergeron was a player for the Boston Bruins, whom he joined in 2003. He has appeared in the NHL All-Star Game three times and the NHL Young Stars Game in 2004. He has won the Frank J. Selke Trophy five times and was a member of the Stanley Cup-winning team in 2011, scoring the game-winning goal. He also received the NHL Plus-Minus Award and the NHL Foundation Player Award in 2014. In addition, in 2021, he received the Mark Messier Leadership Award, and in 2013, he received the King Clancy Memorial Trophy. He was also named to the NHL All-Decade Second Team in 2019. Patrice Bergeron is the Boston Bruins' #37 jersey wearer.
Bergeron finished the 2020-21 regular season ranked fourth on the Boston Bruins' all-time scoring list with 917 points (375 goals and 542 assists). At the time, he trailed only Ray Bourque, Johnny Bucyk, and Phil Esposito. Bergeron was nominated for the Selke Trophy for the 10th consecutive season, days before the New York Islanders eliminated the Bruins from the 2021 playoffs on June 9th.
Bergeron would not score his first goal for the Bruins until the eighth game of the 2021-22 regular season. Patrice scored only his second natural hat trick (seventh overall) of his NHL career on November 4th, as the foundation for a four-goal game by the Bruins team captain in a 5-1 victory over the Red Wings.

Bergeron's contract expired at the end of the season, and given his age and history of injuries, it was unclear whether he would remain with the team. Patrice Bergeron scored a hat trick for his 400th career goal on April 28th, 2022. He joined Johnny Bucyk (545), Phil Esposito (459), and Rick Middleton as the fourth player in NHL history to score 400 goals for a single team (402). Bergeron was once again nominated for the Selke Trophy. On June 5th, 2022, it was announced that he had won the award for a record-breaking fifth time. Bergeron signed a one-year contract with the Bruins on August 8th, 2022, to return for his 19th season. Bergeron recorded his 1,000th NHL point on November 21st, 2022, in a 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning.
