NHL Schedule 2023-24

NHL’s full form is National Hockey League, which is the organization responsible for professional hockey in the United States. NHL is one of the most prominent professional sports organizations in the United States and Canada. It is often recognized as the world's most renowned ice hockey league. The NHL is fifth in terms of revenue among professional sports leagues worldwide, behind the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), and the English Premier League (EPL).

The National Hockey League (NHL) was founded at the Windsor Hotel in Montreal on November 26, 1917, following the dissolution of the National Hockey Association (NHA), founded in 1909 in Renfrew, Ontario.Before a series of league mergers and foldings left the NHL as the only league left vying for the Stanley Cup in 1926, the NHL immediately replaced the NHA as one of the leagues that engaged in an annual interleague contest for the Stanley Cup.

The Stanley Cup is one of the "most important championships available to the sport," according to the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The 32 NHL teams are divided into two conferences: the Eastern Conference, which has the Atlantic and Metropolitan Divisions, and the Western Conference, which has the Central and Pacific Divisions, each with eight teams.

The NHL's regular season typically lasts from October to April, during which each team competes in 82 games. Following the regular season, 16 teams advance to the Stanley Cup playoffs, a four-round tournament that lasts until June and decides the league champion.

National Hockey League: Date & Time

In 2023–2024, the National Hockey League’s (NHL) regular season is set to run from October 10, 2023, to April 18, 2024. Following the beginning of the Stanley Cup playoffs, the Stanley Cup Finals are slated to occur in June 2024.

The 2023 NHL Entry Draft took place on June 28 and 29, 2023, at Nashville, Tennessee's Bridgestone Arena. The first overall pick was the Chicago Blackhawks, who selected Connor Bedard. For the first time, NHL games were played in Australia. At Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, best known as the site of the Australian Open, the Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings played on September 23 and 24.

The arena's retractable roof was closed for the game because it was never intended for ice hockey, so the league had to construct an interim rink like it for any other NHL outdoor game.

NHL Broadcast

The 2023–24 regular season schedule was released by the National Hockey League (NHL), and it will begin on October 10 with a tripleheader that will be broadcast exclusively on ESPN, with the Vegas Golden Knights hoisting their first Stanley Cup championship banner before taking on the Seattle Kraken at 10:30 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena.

The other games on October 10 are the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Pittsburgh Penguins at 8 p.m. ET and the Nashville Predators vs. Tampa Bay Lightning at 5:30 p.m. ET. The Chicago Blackhawks will play the Boston Bruins on October 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET, while the Los Angeles Kings will play the Colorado Avalanche at 10 p.m. ET. This will be TNT's first season.

The Montreal Canadiens will play the Toronto Maple Leafs on October 11 at 7 p.m. ET, the Ottawa Senators will play the Carolina Hurricanes at 7 p.m. ET, the Winnipeg Jets will play the Calgary Flames at 10 p.m. ET, and the Edmonton Oilers will play the Vancouver Canucks at 10 p.m. ET. Sportsnet will air all four of the games.

The 82 games per team, 1,312-game regular season schedule, will end on April 18, 2024. The whole schedule for each team's 2023–24 regular season is attached, and a list of each team's home opener is provided below.
