Jack Hughes, one of the top hockey centers of the New Jersey Devils, is the most talked about player in the game. He was drafted first overall in the NHL Entry Draft on June 21st, 2019 by the Devils. The 21-year-old hockey star was born to Ellen Weinberg Hughes and Jim Hughes on May 14th, 2001.

The rising star of the Devils is lucky to have an athletic background, as Ellen Hughes and Jim are both former hockey players. Jack was raised alongside both of his siblings, Quinn and Luke, who are also renowned hockey players of the Vancouver Canucks and the Devils, respectively.

Ellen is a former American hockey player who devoted her talent to competing for the US Women's National Team at the 1992 Women's World Championship. She was also a professional lacrosse and soccer player for the University of New Hampshire. Later in 2012, the former hockey player was introduced to the UNH Athletic Hall of Fame, where she served on ice hockey teams and soccer teams as an assistant coach.

Ellen also became an advisor to Norway's women's hockey team during her career. She also served in the sport as a reporter, covering the most significant games. She soon became busy guiding Jack along with her husband, Jim Hughes.

After retiring from hockey, Jim started coaching important teams like the Toronto Marlies and became the director of player development for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Later on, he also served the Boston Bruins as an assistant coach. He was also the team captain at Providence College.
