IMPACT Wrestling Results: Gail Kim drops Slammiversary bombshell; Sami Callihan framed

The contract signing goes as well as you'd expect; IMPACT Wrestling legend Gail Kim returns
The contract signing goes as well as you'd expect; IMPACT Wrestling legend Gail Kim returns

We're nine days away from IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary, and we still had some business to handle before then. Who was facing Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Championship? Were Fire 'N Flava putting their titles on the line against Rosemary and Havok?

Violent By Design interrupted the match to determine the contenders for the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Titles last week. Who would IMPACT Wrestling declare VBD's opponents at Slammiversary? On top of that, we had a contract signing between Sami Callihan and Kenny Omega tonight.

On Before the IMPACT, we saw Suicide face off against the most recent addition to IMPACT Wrestling, Steve Maclin. It was definitely Maclin's toughest bout so far, but he still managed to put Suicide away with ease.

Before the show, IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis were met by Mean Gia Miller. They were excited about the contract signing tonight, and "hoped that everyone made it."

Brian Myers w/Sam Beale vs Jake Something on IMPACT Wrestling

These competitors ran right at one another, throwing strong punches. No tie-ups or anything like that, this was a fight. Jake Something got the better of Brian Myers and took him to the floor to drive him into the steel barricade.

Myers got back inside the ring but was dumped out again with a big clothesline. However, as Something stepped onto the apron, Myers pulled his leg out from under him, sending him hard into the side of the ring. After a suplex to the ramp, Myers brought him inside and slowed things down.

With Myers distracting the referee, Sam Beale caught Something with a cheap right to the jaw. The Most Professional Wrestler in IMPACT Wrestling had been teaching Beale to take advantage of every opportunity.

Something shook off the headlock and battered Myers with a double ax handle to the back. A sit-out powerbomb earned him a two-count. As he set up for the spear, Myers countered with a superkick and an Impaler DDT.

A big elbow drop from the top earned Myers a two-count. As Myers set up for a big clothesline, Something ducked and caught a rebounding Myers with the Black Hole Slam.

Results: Jake Something defeated Brian Myers via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: B+

According to the deal, the Most Professional Wrestler in IMPACT Wrestling was supposed to call Jake Something a professional if he won. He baited Something in for the announcement before Sam Beale ran him down. Thankfully, a returning Matt Cardona came in and sent them packing.

IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo was asked about her plans now that she's not with Kimber Lee and Susan anymore. Purrazzo stated that nobody helped her win her two titles, and she wouldn't need any help going forward. In fact, she was going to the ring to issue an open challenge.

Sami Callihan arrested

The number one contender to the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship, Sami Callihan, was interviewed by Gia Miller. Callihan teased what he would do to Kenny Omega at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary, but he was soon arrested. Apparently he was wanted for assault and battery on Don Callis.

Deonna Purrazzo vs Lady Frost on IMPACT Wrestling

The IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion was surprised by the sudden appearance of Lady Frost. The newcomer managed to go toe-to-toe with Deonna Purrazzo, and caught her with a big rolling roundhouse. However, a little bit too much taunting allowed Purrazzo to avoid a moonsault.

After a series of boots, the Venus Demillo was locked in by the champion for the victory.

Results: Deonna Purrazzo defeated Lady Frost via submission on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: B-

Purrazzo thanked Frost for trying to best her, but nobody could do that, for she is the greatest Knockouts Champion of all time. At that point, Gail Kim made her way to the ring.

Purrazzo said that she was a huge fan of Gail Kim, and respected her for everything she'd ever done for the division. But she expected that respect to go both ways. Kim calmed her down, saying that she definitely respected Purrazzo and was proud of what she'd accomplished.

As far as why she was here, she wanted to talk about IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary. Deonna thought she was going to challenge her, and accepted automatically. Kim made it clear that she was not coming out of retirement, but talked to Scott D'Amore to set up a major match.

However, Purrazzo wouldn't know her challenger until Slammiversary.

Moose assaults Chris Sabin

Backstage at IMPACT Wrestling Chris Sabin entered Swinger's Palace. However, the Midnight Mayor and John E. Bravo were nowhere to be seen as they had some special business to take care of. Sabin didn't care, though, because he "still loved this place!" He and Swingerella number two seemed to have a connection, but before we could hear much he was attacked by Moose.

Mr. IMPACT Wrestling laid out Sabin and even Swinger's security Hernandez. Moose told Sabin that he'd get him at Slammiversary, and that Sabin would find out then just why he's called a "Wrestling God."

Mean Gia Miller interviewed Chris Bey. Last week, he saved Josh Alexander, Petey Williams, and Trey Miguel from a beatdown. Bey said he wasn't choosing a side that night, those three were just on his.

W. Morrissey vs Jason Page, Manny Smith, and Deontey Evans on IMPACT Wrestling

W. Morrissey attacked Eddie Edwards last week to send a message to the face of IMPACT Wrestling. Eddie challenged Morrissey to a match at Slammiversary, and tonight, Morrissey accepted.

He decided to send another message to Edwards by showing him what he could do with a one-on-three massacre in the ring tonight. Manny Smith was first, and was taken out with a clothesline. The other two met the same fate, and all three men were left in different corners.

After a series of splashes, Smith was taken out with a boot. Evans was flattened with a chokeslam, and Page was driven into the mat with a massive powerbomb. Manny Smith, for some reason, wanted more. Morrissey hit a modified F-5, and stacked all three men up for one of the easiest wins of his career.

Results: W. Morrissey defeated Jason Page, Manny Smith, and Deontay Evans via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: C

At IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary, Eddie Edwards will have to contend with W. Morrissey. Considering what he did to three men, the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion may be in for a struggle.

Don Callis interview

Former IMPACT Wrestling EVP Don Callis told Gia Miller that he had footage of his assault by Sami Callihan. The footage, of course, showed the back of a masked man wearing a Death Machine hat punching Callis.

Scott D'Amore came in and apologized to Don Callis for the "assault." Still, the contract signing was happening this week whether Callis and IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega wanted it or not.

Susan and Kimber Lee vs Rosemary and Havok on IMPACT Wrestling

Rosemary started off against her former rival Susan (technically...different personality). Susan called the former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion a freak and was beaten down for her insults. Rosemary and Havok cracked Susan with a double forearm smash, forcing her to tag out to the Crown Jewel of IMPACT Wrestling, Kimber Lee.

Havok ate a series of strikes but they didn't seem to affect her. She tossed Lee around the ring before crashing into her in the corner. Rosemary tagged in but a rake to the eyes allowed Lee to take over. A roundhouse to the head left Rosemary out for the two-count.

The Demon Assassin was taken to the wrong side of the ring, where Susan and Kimber went for some tandem offense. They couldn't figure out exactly what they were going for, allowing Rosemary to break away and tag in the Kaiju Queen herself. Havok left both opponents in opposite corners, driving big boots into their faces.

Susan avoided a second one and went after the leg, biting her in the process. Kimber went up top but was knocked to the floor when Havok sent Susan into the ropes. Havok tagged out, and she and Rosemary hit a Russian leg sweep/spear combination on Susan to get the win.

Results: Rosemary and Havok defeated Susan and Kimber Lee via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: B

It looked like IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Champions Fire 'N Flava had a tough fight ahead of them should this match be made official.

All About Me featuring Tenille Dashwood

On the latest episode of "All About Me" Tenille Dashwood introduced the "host" of the show, Jazz. Dashwood said she felt betrayed by Rachael Ellering, and it's all Jazz's fault. All Tenille wanted was a shot at the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Titles.

Jazz was tired of all the games, and threatened Dashwood. Tenille backed away, but as soon as Jazz turned her back, Tenille attacked her. Jazz was sent into the camera, and we never saw what happened after.

Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace arrive at the scene

IMPACT Wrestling officials were checking on Jazz when Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering came in. Jazz revealed what happened, and they promised they'd take care of Tenille and Kaleb with a K. Ellering told them they were lucky that Jazz was going to be okay.

It was one thing to mess with the former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Champions, but Jazz was a different story. Grace and Ellering were back on the same page, and their first goal was to finally rid themselves of Tenille and Kaleb once and for all.

Rich Swann and Willie Mack call out the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Champions

Rich Swann and Willie Mack came to the ring to call out Violent By Design, who attacked them last week. Swann said that they fought like men, and they were going to take the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Team Titles from VBD. They were interrupted by TJP and Fallah Bahh, who also had a claim to a shot at the gold.

Before they could figure out who deserved to challenge for the titles, Violent By Design made their way to the ring. It looked like we were about to get an eight-man brawl.

That was until The Good Brothers appeared on the ramp. Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows stated that their priorities were never anywhere but IMPACT Wrestling, no matter how many times they showed up in other promotions. They were going to be the IMPACT Wrestling Tag Champions sooner rather than later, no matter who held the gold.

With four teams in the ring, Anthem representative Tommy Dreamer appeared. Dreamer said that Scott D'Amore made a special announcement regarding the titles. At Slammiversary, Violent By Design will defend the titles against all three teams in a four-way bout.

Since that was still nine days away, Dreamer called for a little preview. We'll get a four-way match tonight, with one man from each team.

Rich Swann vs TJP vs Deaner vs Karl Anderson on IMPACT Wrestling

The sudden four-way match on IMPACT Wrestling kicked off with Deaner and TJP falling to the floor. Karl Anderson and Rich Swann battled in the ring. Swann sent Anderson to the floor with a dropkick while TJP dropped Deaner on the barricade.

TJP and Swann squared off, with TJP hitting Swann with a handspring dropkick. Swann blocked a running face wash, sent TJP away, and hit a rolling clothesline. A headscissor sent him to the ground, setting Deaner up to take down Swann.

The workhorse of Violent By Design got the better of Swann with a great snap powerslam. TJP tried to take advantage of a distracted Deaner, but ended up his next victim. TJP was shoved into the second turnbuckle where his neck was driven into it with a dropkick.

Deaner, TJP, and Anderson found themselves on the floor in a perfect spot for the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion to land on them with a big senton from the top.

After a commercial break, the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion had Deaner in his sights in the ring. However, he was turned inside out with a kitchen sink knee lift. Karl Anderson came in and told Deaner he was impressed, wanting to work together to take on Swann. Deaner, of course, immediately turned on Anderson.

Everyone caught one another with some big strikes before TJP was planted by Anderson with a back suplex. TJP had the Good Brother set up for the Detonation Kick, but the former IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Champion couldn't connect. The Machine Gun went for a Gun Stun only to be interrupted by Deaner.

TJP dropped him with the Detonation Kick before eating a kick from Swann. Deaner spiked Swann with the Deaner DDT and somehow TJP managed to break the pin up.

Deaner and Anderson were the last two left in the ring, and Anderson managed to catch Deaner with the Gun Stun for the win.

Results: Karl Anderson defeated Deaner via pinfall on IMPACT Wrestling.

Grade: A

After the match, Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson stared down the IMPACT Wrestlign Tag Team Champions. Doc and Joe Doering stood face-to-face.

Kimber Lee brought Susan to Father James Mitchell, who was there to return Susan to her former glory. Su-Yung, the former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion, may be on her way.

Mitchell made sure Lee wanted to do this, as it could very well lead to her downfall. Lee said that she had no other choice. Lee and IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo were the ones to go to Mitchell in the first place to turn Su Yung into Susan. What will happen once Su Yung returns?

IMPACT Wrestling World Championship Contract Signing

To the best of Scott D'Amore's knowledge, IMPACT Wrestling wrestler and certified psychopath Sami Callihan was still locked up for the assault charge. Unfortunately, he was unable to attend tonight.

Scott D'Amore brought down Don Callis and IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega for the signing. Sami Callihan or no Sami Callihan, this was happening.

Don Callis claimed he was a victim, though D'Amore was doubtful of the attack. After all, Callihan usually isn't that straight forward with his attacks. As Omega signed the contract, the lights went out. On the screen, we saw the footage from earlier from a security camera.

John E. Bravo was the one to "attack" Don Callis. When the lights came back up, Sami Callihan was in the ring with the Callihan Slugger. He attacked the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion and went after Don Callis. Omega got the better of Callihan when his back was turned, looking to send him through the table.

Callihan hit a low blow on Omega. Thumbs up, thumbs down. A package piledriver spiked Omega, and Callihan signed the contract. Callihan was about to leave, but decided to send a final statement. The Draw of IMPACT Wrestling drove Omega through the table with a powerbomb.

Callis was having a fit on the floor while Callihan held the title above his head. Will Omega be able to escape IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary with, not just the title, but his health?
