Match 83 of the Hero Indian Super League saw a top-four clash as league leaders Bengaluru FC visited Jamshedpur FC in Orissa at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar.
Bengaluru FC, who have already qualified for the playoffs started at the first spot with 34 points from the 16 matches so far, with a six-match unbeaten run to their credit. Jamshedpur FC, who themselves are on a four-match unbeaten run lay in the final playoffs spot with 26 points from their 16 matches.
Bengaluru FC ensured that they will finish at the top of the ISL standings as they extend their unbeaten run in the league. Miku and Sunil Chhetri scored in the first half to give the Blues the advantage in the fixture and defended well in the second half to ensure the three points. Mehtab Hossain was sent off in the second half after he had come on in the 56th minute.
Jamshedpur FC
Subrata Paul (5.5/10) - The 'Spiderman' conceded a penalty when he brought down Miku inside the box after the striker was through on goal, which was eventually scored by the Venezuelan.
Yumnam Raju (5/10) - The left-back had the tough task of marking the dynamic winger Udanta Singh on the flak and was kept busy at all times. He did manage to make some attacking in-roads and put in good crosses into the box.
Andre Bikey (5/10) - The Cameroonian defender was a stable presence in the Jamshedpur defence alongside Tiri. He used his physicality well and made a lot of crucial tackles.
Tiri (5/10) - The Jamshedpur skipper played in the defence alongside Bikey and did well in the air to keep Miku in check in the second half.
Souvik Chakrabarti (5/10) - The right-back was up against Bengaluru skipper Sunil Chhetri on his flank which resulted in less attacking exploits for the former Mohun Bagan man. He still managed to make some runs to combine with the midfielders ahead of him.
Memo (5.5/10) - The defensive midfielder for the home side had a tough time as Bengaluru midfield imposed their control in the first half of the match.
Wellington Priori (5.5/10) - The lanky Brazilian played behind the attack and moved all across the midfield trying to find spaces between the Bengaluru defenders.
Jerry Mawihmingthanga (6.5/10) - The diminutive winger was a spark in the attack for Jamshedpur as he kept making good runs on the right flank for the home side. He had a good chance to score in the second half but Gurpreet Sandhu produced a great save to keep his effort out.
Farukh Choudhary (6/10) - The former Kerala Blasters FC man played on the wings for Jamshedpur FC and used his speed well to create some chances.
Sumeet Passi (4/10) - The former DSK Shivajians striker made his second start of the season but wasn't as effective as he was in the previous match. He was replaced by Anas Edathodika at the start of the second half.
Izu Azuka (7/10) - The Nigerian had a quiet first half as the home side struggled to breach the Bengaluru defence. He began the second half aplomb with confidence producing a couple of chances at the Bengaluru goal and was a constant threat throughout.
Substitutes:
Anas Edathodika (2/10) - The defender came on to replace Sumit Passi as Coppell aimed to control the damage done by the Bengaluru attack. His stay was not long as he went out with an injury just seven minutes after coming on.
Mehtab Hossain (3/10) - The former Indian international came on to replace Anas who had gone out injured as Jamshedpur increased defensive cover. He was booked twice in the second half and resulted in being sent off.
Kervens Belfort (4/10) - The Trinidadian winger came on to replace Andrey Bikey as Coppell made an attacking change taking out Andrey Bikey from the defence.
Bengaluru FC
Gurpreet Singh (8/10) - The Indian No.1 custodian was a strong figure in the goal for the visitors as he produced good saves keeping the Jamshedpur attacks out. He continued his form in the second half as he made crucial saves maintaining the clean sheet. He was awarded the Hero of the Match for his performance.
Rahul Bheke (6.5/10) - The versatile Rahul Bheke played on the right flank for the away side and was engaged continuously with his runs and crosses.
Janan (6.5/10) - The Spaniard played in the central defence as Bengaluru put on a strong backline against Jamshedpur. He was strong in his tackles and used his physicality to give a hard time to Passi and Azuka in the attack.
John Johnson (6.5/10) - The Englishman played alongside Juanan in the defence and was at his usual no-nonsense demeanour keeping out Jamshedpur attacks. He was good on the ball at the back as Bengaluru built the plays from the back.
Subhasish Bose (6.5/10) - The left-back was active up and down the flank for the away side as he kept making runs to provide an option for Bengaluru in the attack.
Lenny Rodrigues (6/10) - The lanky Indian international played the pivot between the defence and midfield for the Bengaluru FC side. He distributed the ball well from the back and even was stable when tackling to break up plays.
Dimas Delgado (6/10) - The midfielder was the go-to man for Bengaluru on setpieces and he proved his credentials with an assist when Sunil Chhetri rose to head his delivery into the goal.
Toni Dovale (6/10) - The Spaniard who played in the midfield was a constant threat with his ability to find good passes and long-distance shooting prowess. He was replaced in the 70th minute by Erik Paartalu.
Sunil Chhetri (7/10) - The skipper doubled the advantage for the Blues with a well-taken header from a freekick put in by Dimas Delgado to get his 10th goal of the season. He was a constant threat on the left flank for the Jamshedpur side and kept Souvik Chakrabarti on his toes.
Udanta Singh (6/10) - The pacey winger was his usual dangerous self on the right flank for the Bengaluru side. He put in a lot of good crosses for the attackers and even had some efforts on the goal before replaced by Boithang Haokip after the hour mark.
Miku (7/10) - The second highest goalscorer in the ISL got his name on the scoresheet for the thirteen time this season. He earned and scored a penalty when Subrata Paul brought him down inside the box in the first half.

Erik Paartalu (4/10) - The Australian came on in the final twenty minutes replacing Toni Dovale in the midfield as Albert Roca tweaked things as Jamshedpur looked to gain control of the game.
