3rd Kabaddi World Cup: Indian women drub Canada 62-16 to storm into semifinals

Indian women continued the country’s impressive campaign in the 3rd World Cup Kabaddi Championship (circle style kabaddi), registering an emphatic 62-16 victory over Canada to storm into the semifinals.

The win was Indian eves’ second straight win after their resounding 60-17 opening game win over Denmark.

The Indian women started proceedings on Sunday on a bullish note, raiding the Canadian territory with aplomb. The Canadian raids proved less effective against the more proficient Indians.

The women in blue exhibited nifty dodges as well as superb holds to unsettle the Canadians and garnered a cosy 30-9 lead at half time.

Indian eves appeared more belligerent in the second half, logging points at will from their incisive raids.

The Canadians tried hard to mount a challenge but it was never going to be their day as India romped home 62-16 to top Pool A.

Meanwhile, the Indian men are also assured of a semifinal berth after two consecutive wins over England and Afghanistan.

They play their last league match against Denmark on Tuesday.
