As Iran gears up to host the Asian Kabaddi Championships scheduled to take place from 23rd-27th November, it has been confirmed that the rules of the Pro Kabaddi League will be applied to this year's Championships for the very first time, which will add to the excitement to the game.

Speaking to Sportskeeda with just a couple of days to go for the mega tournament, a top official confirmed that the Pro Kabaddi League has been a major influence on the sport of Kabaddi worldwide, which was the driving factor to imbibe the same rules as followed in the league to this competition with familiar names from the PKL set to clash against each other.

What are the new rules?

The do-or-die raids, which compels raiders to pick a point from the third raid, will be introduced for the first time while there will also be a 30-second time limit for each raid, which was not a part of the rules in the previous editions.

In addition to this, defenders will also have an opportunity to make it big with super tackle opportunities that will see teams being awarded two points if they make a tackle with just three or fewer defenders on the mat.

A huge milestone for the Pro Kabaddi League

When the league came into the spotlight after a successful season in 2014, a lot of new players came into the picture, wanting to stamp their authority and in the successive seasons, the league witnessed an exponential rise of talented players coming to the fore.

With the years having gone by and the fifth season playing host to a pool of talented youngsters, the cash-rich league is one of the biggest sporting leagues across the world and if recent advancements are to go by, the PKL is sure to evolve and inspire more talents to take up the game all over the world.
