Can Dabang Delhi register their first win of the campaign against Puneri Paltan?
Previewing Dabang Delhi's match against Puneri Paltan to see if they get their first win of this Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League campaign.
The Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League season 3 has now moved to Bengaluru, the garden city. With the Vizag leg of the tournament coming to an explosive finish with hosts Telugu Titans losing to Bengal Warriors, the action has now shifted to the home of last year's finalists, Bengaluru Bulls.
The opening night of the Bengaluru leg will see Dabang Delhi take on Puneri Paltan in the second match of the day. The teams split both matches last season, with Delhi winning a high-scoring encounter 38-37 while their second meeting later in the season saw the Paltan defeat the Dabangs 33-28.
Dabang Delhi have had two tough losses to deal with so far, having lost their opening encounter against the Bengaluru Bulls 35-29 and their second match to the Telugu Titans 45-34. Both matches saw the team starting slowly, before making a strong comeback. However, they found themselves up against a big deficit in both matches, which proved to be too much in the end.
The emphasis for the Eagles in tonight's match against Puneri Paltan will be to get off to a good start and they will look to pin their opposition down from the beginning. The Delhi defence needs to get back to performing to their best, with Ravinder Pahal, the best defender in the league needing to lead from the front.
The team's raiding has gone well so far, with star raiders Kashiling Adake and Surjeet Singh (Narwal) performing well, both having scored 20 points each in the two matches combined. Rohit Kumar Chaudhary is an important cog in the raiding department and his performance today will be very important to his side's hopes of winning.
A win in tonight's match will be very important for the Dabangs, and they will need to look out for the danger duo of Manjeet Chhillar and Ajay Thakur from the Puneri Paltan. Chhillar, the star all-rounder scored 7 points in the Paltan's only match so far and will be the danger man going into tonight's match. Similarly, Thakur, one of the best raiders in the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League, will need to be monitored carefully by Pahal and his defenders.
The match between Dabang Delhi and Puneri Paltan is the 2nd match of the day at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, and will start at 9 pm Indian time.
