In their second last match at home of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5, Dabang Delhi will face off against the UP Yoddha in the North Indian derby at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex in New Delhi as a part of the Inter-Zone Challenge Week.
Dabang Delhi suffered a loss last night against the defending champions, Patna Pirates by a slender margin of just two points. While on the other hand, the UP Yoddha are coming into this clash on the back of a win against the same team.
The Dabangs have not had a particularly successful season this time around, as they languish at the bottom of the points tally in Zone A with 11 losses off 16 matches. The attack is spearheaded by captain Meraj Sheykh alongside his Iranian compatriot, Abolfazl Maghsoudlou. Rohit Baliyan comes into the side in the capacity of a third raider.
The one good thing that came to the fore in the last match for Delhi was the fact that their defence looks strengthened by the presence of young gun Vishal who picked up a High-5 in the last match and Satpal who also affected four key tackles. The mantle will thus lie on the coach now to include three other players from the likes of Sunil, Shubham Palkar, Anand Patil, Bajirao Hodage and Tushar Bhoir to make the key difference and put up an all-round show to help the side's cause.
UP Yoddha, on the other hand, will be high on confidence due to their win against the threatening Patna Pirates wherein the entire team rallies behind their two main raiders Nitin Tomar and Rishank Devadiga to power them across to the finish line. Both the raiders picked up a Super-10 to their credit and will look to continue in the same fashion against Delhi as well.
The defence also looks good with the likes of Jeeva Kumar, Sagar Krishna, Nitesh Kumar and young Rohit who has recently made the cut to the starting seven in place of Rajesh Narwal. Surender Singh plays a vital role in supporting the attack as the third raider and has been quite impressive in the do-or-die situations.
Dabang Delhi vs UP Yoddha match prediction
If one has to call the match, it will definitely be in favour of UP Yoddha, primarily due to the fact that their raiders can completely destroy the weak defence of the opposition with their attacking strides on the mat and thus even go on to notch up a big margin victory against the home side.
